Finally, we have received some much needed rain (66 mm total within the last 2 weeks). The course is starting the green up and the fairways are improving. This week has been productive, we have managed to spray greens with both fertiliser and wetting agent. We have also verticut greens to remove thickness and lateral growth – this will help improve green speed. The height of cut has also been lowered all areas. We are now cutting greens at 3,0 mm, tee/foregreen at 9 mm and fairways at 12 mm.
Next week, Kari and myself are on semester so it will just be general cutting and raking bunkers etc. On my return (week 29), the focus will be fertilising all areas again and sharpening the cutting units to maintain the cutting quality.
